Learn About Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are very common. According to Mayo Clinic, 3 out of every 4 adults will experience hemorrhoids in their lifetime. Although these swollen veins in and around your anal canal are common, there are solutions to keep them from recurring.

Some hemorrhoids are visible (external hemorrhoids) and look like small bulges on your anus. Other hemorrhoids are not visible and are called internal hemorrhoids. Internal hemorrhoids are less irritating and sometimes the only way that you know that you even have hemorrhoids is by the appearance of bright red blood after a bowel movement.

External hemorrhoids may be painful and bleed during bowel movements and itchy and uncomfortable after bowel movements.

Despite their prevalence, should a hemorrhoid episode last longer than a few days, you should seek advice from a medical professional.
