Manage Anal Fissure Stress: Create a Daily Plan

Anal fissures can cause severe stress and anxiety. One way to manage this stress is to create a daily plan of what remedies to use and when. Find a list of suggested remedies on our anal fissure remedy page.

Example plan:

7:00 AM: Wake up

7:30 AM: Take a sitz or full body bath

8:15 AM: Eat oatmeal or other high-fiber breakfast and drink a glass of lemon water

9:00 AM: Stock bathroom with gloves, lidocaine, (un)petroleum jelly, and witch hazel wipes

9:15 AM to 12:00 PM: Drink 24 ounces of water

12:00 PM: Eat whole wheat pasta salad with black bean soup and drink a glass of water

12:30 PM: Take a walk around the block

1:00 PM to 5:00 PM: Drink 24 ounces of water and eat a high-fiber snack

5:30 PM: Eat a chopped salad with a protein of choice and drink a glass of water

6:30 PM: Take a sitz or full body bath
